Salvador Caetano Indústria participated in the world’s leading international exhibition for the airport sector, Inter Airport Europe 2013, in Munich, from the 8th until the 11th of October. In the COBUS Industries exhibition area, the first 100% electric bus for airports and the latest facelift of COBUS 3000 were on display.
CaetanoBus, in a partnership with SIEMENS, developed the solution to refit the COBUS diesel buses with a complete e-drive and a new design, extending the lifetime of the vehicles for over 10 years. This innovative concept guarantees a 75% reduction of energy costs compared to diesel or gas-driven buses, a perfect solution for airport operators. Equipped with the latest energy storage technologies, the eCobus requires minimum maintenance, offering low-noise and completely emission-free operation.
The recent facelift COBUS 3000 was also showcased. This vehicle was developed primarily with the aim of optimizing the ergonomics and comfort of the driver’s cabin area. In this regard, there have been improvements for best driver’s visibility and reliability, improvements in the thermal and acoustic insulation as well as the increase of optional equipment with new LED technology, including destination display and lighting.
