CaetanoBus has secured a contract to deliver 20 MAN Lion’s City Midi units (city buses)to Gibraltar. For the success of this tender with the Government of Gibraltar were decisive the reduced dimensions of the bus – 2.38 meters wide and 8.8 meters long – that make it ideal for driving in this British Peninsula. In addition to the narrow width, other highlights of the bus are the high quality of the manufacturing process and the aluminum structure. It´s actually the first time that an aluminum body is developed over a Midi MAN chassis.
The Lion’s City version that will circulate in Gibraltar has 24 seats, two folding seats, 37 standing places and a place for a wheelchair. At the moment there are already some of these units circulating in European cities. Therefore, winning this tender represents a major and further step in the strengthening of this model that has been recently launched and exclusively designed for urban transport. The production of the Lion’s City Midi buses will start in July and they will be progressively delivered from September onwards.
